Apple iPad 2 on an HDTV : Digital AV HDMI Adapter Demo

Apple iPad 2 on an HDTV : Digital AV HDMI Adapter Demo Video Clips.

Apple released the Apple Digital AV Adapter to coincide with the release of iPad 2. The adapter brings HDMI connectivity to iPad 1 & 2, iPod Touch 4G, and iPhone 4. Only the iPad 2 permits "Mirroring", which allows users to see the iPad screen directly displayed on the attached monitor. You can use adapters to convert the HDMI output if you require a different connection type. Take a look at my video for a full walkthrough and demo of its capabilities. Q & A About Using a USB to DVI HDMI VGA Video Display Adapter

Q & A About Using a USB to DVI HDMI VGA Video Display Adapter

Hdmi

There is a lot of opportunity in how to display your computer signal to other external video display devices, such as a PCI based Video Card, USB or Firewire Based Video Adapter and multi-functional usb display adapter. And now, it seems that dvi hdmi vga to usb display adapter is more and more popular in graphics card converter. Of course, there are significant problem in how to install and debug video display adapter (no signal, no audio, driver compatibility and etc.). Today I want to list some common questions about it. Let's start with one of the most important questions:

Q1: why there is no audio after installing the dvi to hdmi adapter

There's potential for oxidization or dirty or even the bazillionth of a fraction (exaggeration) difference in different metal to different metal contact conduction at the adapter points, but overall both should provide an equally good picture. So, in this situation, you need make sure 2 points:

1.Onboard speakers in monitors usually suck pretty bad, externals are usually much better for pretty cheap.

2.Audio can be outputted over DVI as long as it's a newer ATI video card (not NVidia) using PCI-Express

Q2: The display on the add-on monitor is blank?

A: If the monitor or display screen power LED is green, wait a moment for the monitor to show the video as sometimes it takes time for the add-on monitor to show the video. And if the power LED is red, you should check the power line and battery DC interface. You can also reboot your system to try again. After that, usually it will work!

Q3: The add-on monitor is flickering or low definition

A: This is usually caused by a low refresh rate. In mirror mode, increase the refresh rate of the main monitor. Sometimes, other wirelss devices (cell phone, wireless receiver) may disrupt the display signal. You know, if you use an interference free USB to HDMI Adapter and high quality HDMI Cable, it's ok!

Q4: When I play MPEG/AVI file by Windows Media Player on the extended monitor, how come the display becomes abnormal when I switch it to full screen mode?

A: If your system is Windows XP SP1, we suggest you upgrade it to SP2 to solve this problem. And there is no problem with Vista or Windows 7.

Q5: When playing the video in full screen mode, the motion is not smooth

A: Terminate any other CPU intensive applications running on the computer. If you still have issues playing media content on the adapter, try the following steps: As some media players require DirectX hardware support to correctly operate, try a different media player which requires less DirectX support. Also, if you want to watch full HD movies, you need to use an 37 inch or larger HDTV. Only in larger Monitor, the USB to DVI HDMI adapter can work absolutely. Or, you can only watch edit-movies. Drag the media player to the add-on screen and close the player. Restart the player and it should open on the add-on monitor. Now try playing the media file again. The video playback may be unusual when the add-on monitor is mirroring the primary display and there is another extended screen connected to the computer.

Q6: In extended mode, the add-on monitor appears to have a black border around the desktop

A: This happens when the resolution used by the add-on monitor is larger than the resolution used by the primary monitor. Let's me show you a case that I often play football games on my 42 inch HDTV, and at first, it can't display in full screen mode or extended mode and I change the game setting finally. To solve this problem, configure the add-on monitor to use the same resolution as the primary monitor.

Grandtec USB to HDMI Adapter

Grandtec USB to HDMI Adapter

Hdmi

You've probably seen a coworker or colleague using multiple LCD monitors at their computer workstation. Research at the University of Utah indicates that the use of multiple monitors can significantly improve worker productivity. It has been possible to integrate multiple monitors if the computer had DVI or HDMI outputs, but computers equipped with this functionality are still rare. Currently less than 2 percent of workstations are equipped with more than a single monitor. There is a need for a simpler solution.

A new USB-HDMI adapter module has been introduced in recently that might help. The Grandtec Electronic "Grand HD Cinema" (GHD-2000) adapts a USB port for use as an output for up to 6 monitors (4 for Mac). This is also an easy way to implement an HDTV adapter for a laptop computer. This module is about the size of an AC adapter power supply for a laptop computer. What makes this product different than its competitors is the integrated circuit chips and software drivers, the "Display Link" technology.

Display Link Technology

The critical chips used are made by a company called DisplayLink (formerly Newnham Technology, website: displaylink.com). The company is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, with research and product development in Cambridge, England. DisplayLink is a fabless operation, so the manufacturing of the integrated circuits is probably performed in Taiwan.

DisplayLink technology supports 32-bit color at all resolutions. Whenever native resolution can be detected, DisplayLink will display the native resolution of the screen automatically. The video output format is capable of high definition (720p), and audio functions for a single channel are also integrated. DisplayLink also provides much of the software for automatically configuring the video adapter and the USB port.

DisplayLink compresses the video signal for transport over the USB link to improve bandwidth. Video signals, especially HDTV signals, when uncompressed, require enormous bandwidth. If the original signal source is encoded video (see MPEG) then the computer must first decode the signal. Then the DisplayLink software driver must compress the signal using the proprietary DisplayLink video compression codec. This is basically transcoding, which is one of the reasons that the computer requirements are significant. The compressed signal is then sent over the USB link to the adapter.

Once the signal is past the USB link, the converter uncompresses the signal for broadcast over the HDMI link. HDMI is capable of communicating uncompressed HDTV signals.

There is some misleading information on-line that claims that this product is HDCP capable, which implies that the system is amongst other things, BluRay DVD compatible. Currently DisplayLink technology is not HDCP compliant, since DisplayLink's compression codec cannot manipulate encrypted packages.

Fast moving images may stress the capability of this technology because of the throughput limitations of USB 2.0.

Computer Requirements

The minimum computer requirements for this application are an XP or Vista operating system with a Pentium 4 CPU or equivalent at 2.4GHz. Minimum RAM memory requirement is 512 MB. The converter module relies on the computer CPU to perform the video encoding. The product is Plug and play with included software, and should install quickly.

Power for the converter is supplied from the USB port, so an AC power supply is not required.

Video Wall

It is possible to implement a "video wall" with up to 6 displays, but only a single audio channel can be used. Each screen's picture can be independently rotated in increments of 90 degrees.

The system supports extended desktop video (a single image split over multiple monitors) or mirror imaging (the same image displayed on multiple monitors). A separate USB-HDMI adapter module will be required for each monitor in extended desktop mode.

With multiple USB-HDMI adapters, each monitor can show separate programming. The limitation will be the computers ability to encode each channel because of the process is computation intensive.

Many people now use their computers to watch television and movies. There is a need to be able to easily view the computer's signal on a larger HDTV. The Grandtec Electronic Grand HD Cinema is well suited for this purpose. The Grand HD Cinema currently sells on-line for 0-0.

For those of you who love playing the Wii and are still using the standard composite cable that came with it, there's good news - a third-party accessories, you can play with 480p resolution. Neoya.com ships mostly electronic accessories, the other factDivision "Neoya made products." Now, back to this stunning card!

Thanks to Wii2HDMI do not have to fumble around with a bunch of sloppy, messy cords, but you get the convenience of managing a clean, tidy cable to enjoy. This adapter has a 3.5 mm jack to connect speakers, so you do with all the sounds of a banana makes gorilla hunting in general during the game "Donkey Kong Country Returns" can dive.

The Wii2HDMI supports displaying 480i, 480p, NTSC and576th for PAL. If you already have the 480p with the Wii, not a necessity, which costs 39.95 with this adapter to use to pay because there would be no difference in picture quality. In addition, it is quite large, 3-inch replacement, some additional rooms. It is not aesthetically pleasing, if you have an elegant, black Wii, the adapter is white with blue writing, so disappointing when something that is important to you.

It could be a ton of good deals on HD component cables that allowThey play at 480p, but since HDMI is all digital, is consistently high image quality can degrade while in the same way depends on the length of the cable and / or state. Remember, this is the only HDMI cables for the Wii. Neoya proudly unconventional production of electronic products, so if you want an HDMI cable for Wii, you can get from them. They also offer an HDMI cable for 7.95.

As we transition to digital broadcasting, perhaps the next generationNintendo has an HDMI output, but they have to do until then Wii2HDMI have.

25FT High Speed HDMI Cable with Right Angle Adapter
HDMI Ethernet Channel
The HDMI 1.4 specification adds a data channel to the HDMI connection, enabling high-speed, bi-directional communication. Connected devices that include this feature can send and receive data via 100 Mb/sec Ethernet, making them instantly ready for any IP-based application. The HDMI Ethernet Channel allows internet-enabled HDMI devices to share an internet connection via the HDMI link, with no need for a separate Ethernet cable. It also provides the connection platform that will allow HDMI-enabled components to share content between devices.

Audio Return Channel
The new specification adds an audio channel that will reduce the number of cables required to deliver audio "upstream" from a TV to an A/V receiver for processing and playback. In cases where a TV features an internal content source, such as a built-in tuner or DVD player, the Audio Return Channel allows the TV to send audio data upstream to the A/V receiver via the HDMI cable, eliminating the need for an extra cable.

3D
The 1.4 version of the specification defines common 3D formats and resolutions for HDMI-enabled devices, enabling 3D gaming and other 3D video applications. The specification standardizes the input/output portion of the home 3D system, facilitating 3D resolutions up to dual-stream 1080p.

4K Resolution Support
The new specification enables HDMI devices to support extremely high HD resolutions, effectively four times the resolution of a 1080p device. Support for 4K allows the HDMI interface to transmit digital content at the same resolution as the state-of-the-art Digital Cinema systems used in many movie theaters.
